Society

Dowrick's Scientific Services is a full corporate member of the RMS.

The RMS helps us to make sure that we are aware of the very latest developments in all areas of microscopy and image capture.

Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) is a set of standards and guidelines designed to ensure that results are accurate, documented, and reproducible in any laboratory.

Whilst GLP is largely concerned with the medical, pharmaceutical, and food industries, we at Dowrick's Scientific Services believe these standards to also be relevant to our activities.

The results we give you today must be comparable with the results we gave you last week, and will give you next year.

ISO 9001
and
UKAS

ISO 9001 is the international industry standard for quality control and management systems.

Organizations use the standard to demonstrate their ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements.

UKAS accreditation is the formal recognition that an organisation is competent to perform specific processes, activities, or tasks (which are detailed in a scope of accreditation) in a reliable credible and accurate manner.

Our ISO 9001 and UKAS certifications are in progress.

SOP

A standard operating procedure (SOP) is a set of step-by-step instructions compiled by an organisation to help workers carry out complex routine operations. SOPs aim to achieve efficiency, quality output and uniformity of performance, while reducing miscommunication and failure to comply with industry regulations.

The international quality standard ISO 9001 essentially requires the determination of processes (documented as standard operating procedures) used in any manufacturing process that could affect the quality of the product.  In this case your video, photomicrographs, or written results.
